Is the rear end identical to the GTI bar the central exhausts and the reflectors moved inside the black bit?

Good write up...by any chance have you driven an S3 and if so how does it compare to that?

the r has the LED lights as standard, steve has fitted them afterwards. 

Which are becoming standard on the new GTI's?...Seems a bit odd thats its not more distinctive a la .:R32/GTI in MK5.

The LED tails (all be it not the darker R version) are standard on build week 22 onwards this year for the GTD and GTI

Good write up .. the R certainly does grow on you with time as you explore it's limits  

The headlights on the R actully depend on the alloy size you opt for  (weird as it sounds   )

If you opt for the 19" Talladegas the headlights are totally black internally,  whereas if you go with the standard 18"'s the inner ledge bits are silver
