service
« on: June 23, 2010, 11:58:17 pm »
hello all,

just a quick thing, my car is from jan 2007, and was on longlife service and had only had one service untill last week, iv had it taken of long life now, and just had oil and filters changed, is there anything else that might need doing soonish,

as i think dsg oil is 4 years, so would that need changing next jan or could it wait till next june ish when its due for a yearly service??

and is there anything else that might need doing.

its a 2007 gti dsg and its re-mapped if that makes a diffrence :)

thanks
tom

On the DSG front I would get it serviced at the recommended four year point rather than wait another five months till the normal car service.
If you're having it done through a VW dealer at least you might have a chance of some 'goodwill' from VW if anything drastic went wrong in the future rather than 'I'm sorry you did not have it serviced at...etc'.

Probably need cambelt + waterpump done next Jan and there is the 4 year service. Would put some money aside for that before the year is out.

I would get the brake fluid service done now rather than waiting unless your getting the other brake work done in the next month or so.
