iPhone 4.... Big fuss over.... Not alot? (another iPhone thread!)

Yeah agreed! A colleague at work has one, and apart from being a little bit thinner and faster, it has nothing worthwhile over my 3GS with 4.0! It is also much less comfortable to hold with it being squarer!

Love mine, screen is phenomenal, so clear compared to 3G/3GS, camera is so much better, hd video is great. Performance is outstanding too. Design is so high end compared to the toy like appearance of previous generations too. The glass looks lovely on the front and rear. Phone calls are great with the noise cancellation too.

Agree, iOS4 on a 3GS is still a damn good phone. However, the iPhone 4 has jumped it to a whole other notch in my opinion.

i had a look at someone's iphone 4 close up. Wasn't that hugely impressed. I was expecting a huge leap up but it's just a step upwards. i'm happy to wait until my contract expires in six months.

Yeps same here, it is a cool phone...I got mine on Thursday.  I upgraded from the iPhone 3G and that IS a worthwhile step but if you have the 3GS I would hold on a bit...there were people in the queue ahead of me paying silly money to come out of 3GS contracts....reckon they now may be feeling a little foolish.

Great phone, clever tech but even more clever marketing...

Lovin the camera and that i can now twitter and listen to tunein radio.

Sold my 3Gs, waiting for the white iPhone 4.
While I agree the shape etc isnt anything major, for me it was more the screen and camera that made me want to move across. At least now I can take decent pictures and video of the kids when we are out and about!

... but yeah, I get that occasional feeling of "is it that different to the 3GS", but then you look at all the components that have been improved and it makes the "upgrade" from 3G to 3GS pale into incomparison! It's not just the stuff like Deako pointed out with the fantastic screen and stuff, but a lot of minor things too such as improved GPS, louder speakerphone, etc, etc.

All put together I think it's a very worthy upgrade and I didn't even have to sit and think about whether I wanted to sell on my 3GS and get one, it seemed a no-brainer choice. Of course, perhaps I fell for the Apple Brainwashing... ahem... Marketing on that score!

I got quite a shock when I used my MacBook pro today for the first time since Thursday. The beautiful led screen now looks soft and blurry, I can't believe how poor it now looks?!  

It's truly amazing how you adjust and how quickly something that looked so good before suddenly looks really flawed

Funny, I was just thinking the same when using the iPad today... yet I distinctly remember thinking how great the screen quality was on it when I bought it only a few weeks ago!

I only have old 3G and was considering the upgrade but can anyone who has the new v4 tell me if you can read the screen outside in bright sun light as my old 3g is useless at this?

Certainly can't say I've noticed a problem in the sun over the past days. Seemed quite clear as long as backlight was up which the auto-brightness seems to do fine. I'm sure I've read others saying it's much improved too.
