The 16.1 mpg was after a 4 mile journey in rush hour traffic at 5:30 pm, at one point I was stood still for just short of 10 mins due to roadworks,

On the same day on the way to work in the morning it got 24.8 on a 9 mile trip,

So not that bad

^ ^ ^

Even though you can see '£' signs falling out the exhaust, it's worth it for that sound and traction IMO

...And 28mpg is good anyway! Struggle for that in mine urban driving.

An expensive soundtrack  But indeed, worth it.

Any loose clues to the plans then Chris? Or even the areas you have in mind to target?

I see, fair play  :congrats:

When you say spoiler, do you mean front splitter or a rear spoiler?
If the earlier, then an LCR splitter would look very tidy I reckon  :happy2:

I presume from the way you're talking this isn't your first and won't be your last project?

I meant the boot spoiler, The LCP Splitter does look nice on the R32 Bumper, but its still got its origional 2 black R32 lower splitters so ill leave them on,

Its not my forst project & wont be my last, The last 2 I did was a MK4 GT TDi that ended up with R32 front, R-line rear, Full leather Recaro, Audi TT wheels, Previous to that it was a MK4 GTi 1.8t, That ended up with the full Anni kit & a set of BBS LM reps, (Those were my personal cars though)

I have also within the last year bought & repaired 2 projects, 1 was a MK2 Fiesta XR2 that was looking very sorry for its self, The other was a rare colour Amafi Blue MK4 Xr3i cabriolet that had also been neglected.

took the car out last night,

whilst I was out it felt like it was holding back and had a slight missfire, after a bit it felt normal again though, after about 20 mins the Engine light started to flash and then stayed on,

the car was missing quite a lot so I limped back home, put vagcom on it and it showed missfire on cylinder 5.

looks like it was coil pack, rang tps up at 8:20 this morning and had a new genuine one here for 10:00. will fit it tonight and take it for another run

Sorry to hear you had cylinder/coil probs Chris. Looks like you actioned it more than ASAP  :happy2:

We need some vids of the exhaust/sound if I'm honest
Are you hoping to sell it on for more, or balance your books?

I think this could have been the cause of the problems

But after a little issue trying to remove it I replaced it with this

Genuine VW item, (Remember the saying "Buy cheap buy twice!)

It now runs & sounds even better than it did when I first bought it, So that makes me think it had been ready to pack in before & the drive the other night finished it off.

As for the selling it on, Im hoping to make a little on it, There is one on Ebay now on a cat D but not yet repaired & thats up at £5000

Does look in bit of state that ^

Reckon you've got a bit of power back that you might of lost?

Why the link to a CatD .:R? If yours is hunky dorey, won't it be worth near double that one fella?  Especially in a colour that rare, adds a bit of novelty tax?

^ Ah I see - okay. I just caught your thread on R32oc afterwards actually and realised the relevance  :happy2:

I'd absolutely love one of these when I have the opportunity and budget, so I'm pretty envious!
What's the current personal ride, is that the MK5 GT TDi?
