« on: July 05, 2010, 03:46:36 pm »
As above guys, I'm swapping coil on cylinder 2-3 and can't get the coil out. Any tips, all I can find is pull upwards but it's stuck??

Have you tried twisting it 180degrees first! Or get some pliers on it :happy2:

Not tried twisting, though that would damage it?  Are they really delicate?

Thanks

BIG thank you for this. Going to check my plugs this week & never removed a coil pack before.

I my day.  We had proper coils & spark plug leads.  :signLOL:

mate fantastic tip. Got something similar for sparkies?

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Hi Guys,

Sorry for jumping in on this thread...Still new to this GTI beast

These coil packs
Are these instead of plug leads ? and get called coil packs?

Why do they break down so much? I had a 225 TT before and that was a big problem with that car allthough I never had any trouble.

Are they expensive to replace and will I know when thay are faulty?

Thanks  :happy2:

Not really mate, the main thing is not to over tighten the plugs but that is about it  :happy2:
