Is it easy to remove the headliner? Any DIY?
« on: July 14, 2010, 04:32:37 pm »
Hi

My gti's headliner suffers from delamination, the interior fabric is now drooping from the board. Anyone does a DIY to remove the headliner? Any advice?

Don't have a DiY but the hardest thing will be removing the side trims.  Other than that once you've removed the light fittings it's not a bad job, you'll need to pull it out from the rear hatch.

Ive done a headlining swap on a mk5.

Its a full days job if you've never done it before, most of the interior of the car needs removing. plus, youll need a big garage to put all the bits in when theyre off

You should be able to just drop the rear section Dave and access it from there.  Might need to remove some pillar trims.
