Not happy!!!!  :sad1: The man from vw says no!!! took a call from the boss man at my local vw dealers for him to tell me that they have looked at my claim and basically wont do it under the corrosion warranty as it cant be proven that its a faulty panel !! Now dont ask me how as its clear to anyone without a white stick that it rusting from the inside out!
I got the impression from the dealer be it right or wrong that he couldn't give a toss as i didn't actually buy the car from there! I asked what my options were now and all he could come back with is we'll happily to  give you a quote for the works!  :surprised: I said i dont think so do you? and said its not the end of this!! But really dont know where to go from here, i feel i've been let down by volkswagen after nearly 20 years of vw ownership off and on,
and this is the first warranty claim i've asked for. I'm up a bit of a dead end now and could really do with some pointers on my next move please guys ? As i dont really want to let this drop.

All advice will be taken on board  :happy2:

You'll probably have to put ur grievances and a history of ur vw ownership in writing to vw customer services telling them how shoddy their customer care is. Mention trading standards? Mention watchdog? do what you have to do to turn them round to your way of thinking. There is no level too low you can now stoop to get this resolved. Good luck!

Yes that was going to be my next plan of action to pen a letter to vw in milton keynes and lay in on thick, really my only option left now.

Mention this as companies like VW, like loyalty and it's a large amount of their customer base. Say your next car was going to be a VW but you're not sure now.

Im in the middle of the same thing, i had rust on my offside rear arch and after the assessor accusing the car of being painted, VW agreed to do it.

I picked the car up last night and I could have done a better job of finishing it with an aerosol....

I had a problem with corrosion on mine, where the wing meets the sill. The corrosion was on the tops of the sill. VW said no from a picture...err i dont think so.
I rang VW customer care and said i want a paint accessor to come out and look, otherwise i would be taking it to other "paint experts" for there opinion.

They got back to me and agreed to carry the work out...you just gotta be firm but not over the top cos nobody likes that.

I had the same prob as Lyons though... although the paint work on mine was brilliant, shame it didnt last more than 2 weeks before peeling off. 5 times in total they had my car back. They blamed it on the primer and said they had to use a different make in the end.

I only took it back to the same VW bodyshop because they begged me to (the dealer).

Anyway,  ring VW customer care and let them know pal, im sure they will sort it, just keep at them  :happy2:

Thanks for that buddy. I'm certainly not going to let it drop, i've written a letter yesterday expressing my views on the situation so now gotta wait to see if they even reply. If it comes to it i'll sit outside my local dealers with a banner 'vw's rust dont buy one' might get some kind of reaction. Really hope it doesn't come to that

Update. Had a call from Vw customer service yesterday just to say they had recieved my letter, and a complaints manager would call me within the next 48 / 72 hrs to talk about my problem. We'll see what happens next

So what was your route of attack when the dealer came back and said they wouldn't do it?
You're expecting the dealer to get back to you??!! I'm sorry but you'll have to chase them at least 3 times
Wow, only 3 times? which dealer is this? better than my local one

UPDATE. Had a phone call from a complaints manager at vw customer service today to talk about my case. They have offerd me the chance of an independent paint inspection which i must pay for and if he finds that vw are at fault and it is a warranty claim vw will then carry out the work and refund what i've paid the inspector. If found that vw are not to blame for the corrosion problem then i'm left with the bill which could be up to £195 and still a rusty wing. Think i'm going to take that chance as i've come this far!  :happy2:

Wonder how much the bill would be to repaint the wing and (possibly a new wing)?

£400?

Come on VW is it really worth the time spent trying to get out of this?
