No love for Pirellis?
I've been running P-Zero Rossos on my car for absolutely ages now and really like them. I get excellent performance and quite good longevity ('cos I do high mileage).
Just before i bought my gti the previous owner put Pirellis on, i don't know which type but i find them very grippy in the dry, haven't tried them in very wet weather yet, road noise is normal levels also.

Pirelli PZero Nero or Rossos are my choice, work well in both dry and suprisingly well in the wet. Not a bad price if you shop around.

It's better to have Raced once in your life than be a Spectator for all of it.
