Sorry mate meant to reply to your PM before,

The Part Number for the OEM Mk5 FLuid is the same part number for a 550BHP+, 2 Tonne +, Ceramic Braked RS6.

It will be fine for 95% of applications - its about 5 quid a tin from the dealers.

If you do end up doing a track day, simply bleed through away the stuff that got hot in the calipers and top with a little fresh.

Therewill no doubt be recomendations for RBF which is 4 times as expensive and may give you 10% more temperature headroom on the limit dont get me wrong its top quality stuff - but you'd be better off spending the extra on pads imvho. ATE Super Blue is also good stuff and its easy to pull through as well.

Dont get pulled into the DOT4 DOT5 DOT5.1 debate, they're just numbers they do a different job, a good DOT 4 is better than a crap DOT 5

I used the ATE SL.6 as it is not too expensive and is supposed to be quite close to the standard VW spec. If I was nearer to a dealer than I wasEurocarparts, I would have just got the OEM stuff. I am not sure that it is an issue with other higher viscosity fluids but the OEM stuff and ATE SL.6 are low viscosity which is supposed to be the stuff to use for cars with ABS systems.

I usually buy 2 litres to be on the safe side but end up with plently left over which then gets disposed of.
