Am i correct in saying the DV is located in a different position on the ED30 KO4 than the GTI KO3.

I think you are correct.

I'm sure I read somewhere that it's easier to access on the ed30 than gti.

I won't rush out and buy a new DV just yet.

It's very easy to remove and check (have a search, it's covered a number of times on here), and if your cars not remapped it's not that likely it's at fault as you will probably have the later version G diaphragm version anyway.

The D version is a worthwhile upgrade if you need a new DV though  :happy2:

Yes these would be applicable, but also worth considering the weather, heat soak will also play a part so the car will feel less spritely.

The best thing to do if your in any doubt if get someone to log the car with VCDS to rule out boost leaks etc.

She bought the car last september and she has kerbed all 4 wheels at least twice...if she does it again its gonna be the divorce courts....she can have the kids and will have the ED30....that sounds like a good settlement!!!...back to the DV a good mate of mine will hook the car up next week and check for any boost leaks or any other problems and check the DV.
