KSport Brakes
« on: July 31, 2010, 05:45:47 pm »
Just inquiring for a friend who is considering them for his TT (I've told him to have a look at DaveB's Porsche caliper upgrade). I can't find one thread on them on here.

They seem too cheap to be good (in a sort of too good to be true way). I know the huge number of pistons don't really mean much, a good 4 piston AP Racing setup may be better than their 10 pot kit.

I bought some ksport end links for my golf, quality was ok and not had any problems

Although some chap posted up a thread on golfgtiforum saying avoid there products as they are all cheaply made in Korea or somewhere..

Difficult to know what's what, but with brakes I would go with what's tried and tested so daveb's porker options, r32 if your not bothered about weight or if your feeling flush then those ap racing ones

My choice if i was looking would be tonyd's alcons currently for sale, good price for a lot of brake :happy2:
GTI Edition 30 - Reflex Silver now gone but not forgotten - Cooper S JCW now.

think they're ok. quite a few in Time Attack and the Drifting scene use them.

no one in the VW world uses them cos they mainly make kits fo the rice mobiles (jap cars)

I wouldn't discount them fully, they come from the same Taiwanese factory as the XYZ stuff. XYZ brakes are currently fitted to the MD of Brakes International Audi S4, they're also fitted to the "Bora of Win" track car over on uk-mkivs.

The Bora is capable of 15-20 laps back to back of most circuits, on track pads and 32mm wide discs, they are 6 pots.

They're not bad brakes by any means just not designed for the UK climate, they dont have dust seals which on something as hardy as some AP calipers aint a problem but on these things using them as a daily you'de be rebuilding them every 9 months.

Tony Danza's driven the Bora - PM him and ask him what he thinks
