Hello,

New the the forum, is there any chance in the VW part numbers? :happy2:

Sorry just read through the tread again seen the link :stupid: I take it I can just go to VW and ask for these at the parts Desk?

Cheers Dan

So my switches turned up earlier this week and I had a go fitting them this weekend. Seem to work fine and certainly look nice, but I'm getting a funny error in VCDS now. Anyone had similar?

I've cut this from another poster who had the same problem

This could mean a few things,

1. Switch itself is broken, common issue
2. cable isn't connecting or has cut in it.
3a. I pulled out the switch from the dashboard and disconnected the cable and checked connections in switch, which they were all clean and no sign of burnt. Also checked the cabling and no sign of any issues. Placed the cable back into the switch.

3b. Cleared 01800 error and rerun test on VAG.com, no more errors appeared, so I think maybe one of the connections where not making a solid connection from cable to switch pins.

So basically he unplugged then reconnected it finally cancelled the DTCS an no more problem!

I think it can be done by undoing the screws on the door card and you can reach up behind if your carful.   :happy2:

Cheers Stephen, ill give that a read!
Literally 10 seconds ago I just fitted the driver side windows and mirror switch, as well as the door pull handle. Looks great!

Quick question though, on the old mirror switch to have the heat function on you have the switch in the middle. On the new mk6 switch, the middle appears to be a '0'indicating off, and the heat function is at the top, and the switch actually pivots 180 degrees to get there. Will the off position still be the heat function?

Cheers

Heat function will work OK  Mine does   As StephenED30 said  Undo screws on bottom of door card and reach up inside. Small hands and thin blade  :happy2:  On the other hand removing the card is no biggy :happy2:

Do I switch it to the 'O' position to turn it on?
Cheers I'll just remove the door card I think

Just use the new button like its marks indicate. My mk5 Golf has the same marks as the mk6. Your model is just a bit older. All should work fine.

I'll just have to test it

Just got the fuel switch left to fit now, but it's raining so can't do it at the moment :scared: I'm so impressed with how much of a difference it makes though!
