Also Nadine, my better half had two runs at the end of the day ... by the time you all left 15 mins later track opened and away to go.  Here are her best times :-

Reaction :- 0.94
60ft :- 2.71
1/8 :- 10.53
1/4 :- 15.59

NOT BAD AT ALL considering Nadine has never been near a track, never had a performance car etc etc - well chuffed fro her - her time sheets are her pride and joy at the moment !!!

Thanks to everyone,

Gareth

....Sounds as if Nadine is going to be encouraging you to go to more quarter-mile events! There's one at the GTI International Show in June.

digging into this I found some interesting data (which like dyno numbers can be interpreted but its fun anyway)

http://www.letstorquebhp.com

                                                      1/4          1/4 Terminal mph

Volkswagen   Golf Gti 2.0 (mk5)                15.32   92.81
Volkswagen   Golf Gti 2.0 (mk5) Edition 30   14.49   98.48

I also checked out jonny c (hope you dont mind jonny) previous numbers as he KNOWS how much his car weighs

Power at Flywheel (BHP) :  360
Weight without Driver (KG) :  1310
Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) :  279.22
0 - 60 (Secs) :  4.58
0 - 100 (Secs) :  9.97
60 - 100 (Secs) :  5.39
Quarter Mile (Secs) :  12.82
Terminal Speed (MPH) :  113.39
Drag Strip Quarter Mile (Secs) :  12.62
Drag Strip Terminal Speed (MPH) :  115.46

time is lower but mph is also lower indicating (to me at least) that you have more than 360hp jonny  :scared:
So yes you have more to come! incredible.  :happy2:  for a FWD car that is just silly

http://www.torquestats.com/modified/index.php?pid=calculator
is also fun to try too  :happy2:

Awesome day guys, nice to meet you lot again :happy2:  I cant believe how addictive it is, tried very hard not to spend all day on the strip....

Im real happy with the resultys that i got on the 3 runs, pretty consistant for a virgin dragger.  3 run results below

Reaction  = .6256     -  .8494      - .6341
60ft         = 2.6178   - 2.5156    - 2.6886
330ft       = 6.7400   - 6.5622    - 6.7165
1/8 ET     = 10.0475  - 9.8419   - 10.0032
1/8 MPH  = 76.14      - 76.01     - 75.63
1000' ET  = 12.8075  - 12.5911 - 12.7707
1/4 ET     = 15.2706   - 15.0527 - 15.2483
1/4 MPH  = 96.20       - 95.66    - 92.91

Real pleased with my best time.  was against a std R32, his 60' time was 2.2 mine was 2.5.  By the end he only beat me by .16 and i was closing in at 4.03 MPH   :jumping:  He diddnt look to pleased back at the car park

Not bad for std  :happy2:

Your car looked strong today I thought mate. Running how it should be, like the other day,,

Obi Ben Kenobi....I need your launch technique :nerd: :signLOL:

What did your 60ft times look like Ben??

Best was 2.4 (2.39) mate, but tyres are near enough shot..

Didn't mean to start any doubting by the way guys, as at the end of the day most peeps ran in both lanes so at least we can compare against each other and people on the day.. LOL
Didn't realised you ran twice in the left lane Jonny, thought it was just the one run against me, hence the reason I made the observation in the first place.. Mmmm strange one then.. ha

No worries mate..

Im really not sure about the power, if im totally honest then I think it should have around 370+hp.. As cars with much less had achieved around 360bhp.. But it could be more, I really dont know, it would be interesting having a figure for the car, but im scared to death of posting it anywhere as your inevitably going to get shot down for crazy claims etc etc..

Thats why I thought the 1/4 mile testing would be a better way of showing the cars potential, and to be honest, I was shocked with the trap speeds, especially when you look at this..

This is the 1/4 mile leader board for 2.0T FSI cars.. It shows the car, 'box type, and turbo.. Most of there cars were ran in hot weather on drag radials..

I have added on the rough BHP figures for the top cars..

01.) 11.019@131.79 - GTI - 6MT - 3076 - Gregg@USP.MotorSports (690BHP)
02.) 11.439@126.33 - GTI - 6MT - 3071 - JC@douglas (590BHP)
03.) 11.91x@120.92 - GTI - 6MT - 2871- thebox (450BHP)
04.) 11.94x@122.07 - GTI - 6MT - 3076 - Tapp (450BHP)

05.) 12.497@109.36 - S3_ - DSG - k04_ - nadir (360+BHP)
06.) 12.734@114.36 - GTI - DSG - 3071 - Lou_Y2mk5 (400BHP)
07.) 12.84x@111.71 - GTI - 6MT - 2871 - APR (400BHP)
08.) 12.98x@118.60 - GTI - DSG - K04_ - jonnyc23 (Honestly no idea, around 370BHP)

09.) 13.03x@109.82 - GTI - 6MT - 2871 - prodigymb
10.) 13.088@111.31 - GTI - DSG - 3071 - twinkers
11.) 13.31x@117.28 - GTI - 6MT - 3076? - VF-Engineering/GIAC
12.) 13.41x@105.85 - GTI - 6MT - k03_ - Branman
13.) 13.42x@102.12 - GTI - DSG - k03_ - Turb0matic
14.) 13.439@106.03 - A3_ - xxx - k03_ - LEWXCORE
15.) 13.520@110.39 - TT_ - xxx - k04_ - Stasis Engineering
16.) 13.578@105.81 - GTI - xxx - k03 - gr8ryde
17.) 13.626@100.8x - GLI - xxx - k03 - kChicagoGLI
18.) 13.63x@103.31 - GTI - 6MT - k03 - redGTI
19.) 13.659@103.04 - xxx - xxx - k03 - LOUDOG
20.) 13.66x@101.01 - GTI - DSG - k03 - jamdub

Its a good thing to keep an eye on, I think with drag radials I would be able to get into the low 12's, possibly even high 11's..

The aim for the next day I run is to get myself into that top time bracket anyways!

I take it that table is from the states mate? Be good to see a UK one..  Think Regal's claim of being the fastest Mk5 has been flattened, eapecially after yesterdays performance..

Some of us ot on the CC table already..  although they have used my left lane time and termina speed, boo hoo.

Yes mate, but I know there is a fair few from different countries on there.. So its kind of a world table.. (ish)

Hmm.. I thought that too.. Well, its hard to claim things like that without having a proper shoot out, but im happy to take that risk

F8ck it, Im going to claim it lol..

What impresses me about that run is that your car, Jonny, is FWD and the S3 is quattro and you still both get a good start and get there first.

Yes, indeed, she just wanted to keep going, with the EMS light flashing though thought it wasn't the best idea in the world.  Bit annoyed with my times ... phonecall to superchips will be pending - been a lazy bugger and only just got up - so will get on the phone in the next 1 mins.  Great to meet you at last Robin  :happy2: .  I used due do the strip in international every year in my Mk1 16v - which I may add is doing better times than my alleged 300bhp ED30 ....

Gareth
