When I was ther Ben was managed a 13.37, but I don't know if he beat that after I left.

I enjoyed myself immensely.

I think I've worked out why the DSG was sticking in second though. It must be something to do with the Sport mode. It happened 3 times, the worst one being where I was going up against Ben and it wouldn't come out of second and when I backed off it went into 3rd but would only limp to just over 2k revs

Needless to say I'll be using manual and Drive from now on. The fastest two times I managed were both using Drive, with traction control ON and not using launch :surprised:

21 times is a bit of a record for me and when I got to the gate I only had 10 miles left on the range :scared:

Great to see those who turned up and StevieP, who was just arriving as I left.

I'm off for a few jars with the missis in a bit, so excuse any rants I have later tonight (if I'm in a fit state to type )
Golf R gone.

Managed yet ANOTHER 13.2 in the end John when I went up against a rapid SC'd stripped CTR which pipped me..
Conditions were fairly normal really, was a fairly strong wind blowing across the track, but nothing to bad and I was running similar (if not slightly slower on average) times to our day on the 1st Feb..
Hat's off to WhiteGTI and Rascal though.. Cracking times for K03's, especially the standard one..  :surprised: Seems that some of our DSG boys need to pull there fingers out..  :signLOL: :signLOL: :signLOL:

Highlight of the day for me was this run against a 500+bhp Supercharged Mustang...

(And I fooked my run up )..

It was dead! You could do a run, then come back and be back on the strip within about 2 minutes! Perfect day really.

Wish I could have gone. The only thing that's cheering me up is the prospect of getting my mitts on some monza IIs.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Good to see you all there today guys, and glad to hear the car make it home ok John, it all sounded it a bit scary when I arrived  :happy2:

It was nice to get in some runs as I won't be around for Spring Festival on the 29th.

My best run of the day was a 13.8 @ 102mph  :happy2:

I did get a couple of odd timed runs though, one which I had my best start recorded a terminal speed of 121mph but a slower time of 14.1 mph

Here's a vid's and few random pictures from the day.

I'm going to try and knock something together with my runs and see if I can work out if the car deteriorates over the day or not (or if it is just my pants launch method :ashamed:)

I couldn't come - the car is not running right.  Serious issues with the Air-Fuel ratio after 4k rpm means that it runs lean.  I have to take it back to JKM next week - it was there for 2 days this week but they couldn't resolve it after many tests and runs... its currently running Stage 2+ with boost set to 1 and 255bhp.  But I cannot redline it atm.

Yes mate, just! We got off the line together then mine bogged down going into 2nd and he got a lead, but after that I started to catch him and nipped passed him before the line..  :signLOL: No way is it 500+bhp though, even though it should be and he says it is..

Oh and Steve where did vanish to? Came looking for you when we left, but you had gone,  just your car on it's own..
Oh and cheers for the disc mate, bob on.. :happy2:
