....I've driven it several times  :P :P :P :P

Actually, you don't want to drive her - Look what's happened to her victims - Mat is the latest. She's a serial manipulator and temptress.

OK, couple more questions...

1) How comes you guys always get to test stuff?  I want to join the club - I'm sure I can provide an impartial and detailed review.

2) Were those discs ceramic?  And how much would it cost to replace pads, and discs each time round... I'm hoping its not £2800 each time.

3) What other cost effective brake upgrades are there that you folks can recommend.

Thanks,

Mo

the temptress looks mighty fine since she has had some work to the rear too as looks like a really cohesive styled car now, love those wheels on it too

....To answer your questions:

1) In the case of VWR's demo car, aka The Temptress, those of us who have driven her have done so because she's a demo car for VWR's offered products and she's for their own testing rather than ours. Otherwise on testing generally for various manufacturers, you have to be invited by the manufacturer.

2) Not ceramic. 4-pot & 4-pad (quite unusual). £129.23 a set of pads inc vat but not fitting.

3) Depends what you mean by "cost-effective". AP Racing have a very long established excellent reputation. Tarox excellent too. Others I personally have little knowledge of. Some guys use components from other cars such as R32 and Cupra. I prefer to have the peace of mind of a manufacturer's aftersales support with a fully tested kit and don't mind it costing more.

HTH (Hope This Helps)  :happy2:

....I find them a bit snatchy compared with my AP Racing's but they do work extremely well!! I've got a bit more used to the feel but got a bit of a shock first time I applied them.

Its a VW Racing branded Project Mu product, they are fantasic! Love them to bits, should have them on my car soon.. Well as soon as I can afford them anyways lol..

Really didn't notice the grabby feeling that you describe Robin.. Possibly the pads were not bedded correctly when you drove the car? I think I was in it a little while after you..

Jonny

....Yes, I have the honour of being the very first non-VWR staff to drive her and the last time I drove her was still before you did. I know after my feedback that Mark was going to do more to sort out the brakes. Time for me to re-acquaint myself with her methinks. I really love that car - So tactile!

:happy2:

Test her - Pahhhh!!

I had her for a whole week!  And what a week it was!  Those brakes are fantastic.

Great car! :happy2:

@ stokey - Now I'm on a mission to try out those brakes again! IIRC, Mark said they had differents pads when I drove her.

RR....

following your words of wisdom about air filters, i had mine changed today.  :happy2:

but i couldn't believe what i saw tho when i popped my bonnet up to check.

the damn engine cover was loose, the connection to the ram air box thing at the front of the car not attached.

maybe that's why i got crap times yesterday!!!

still the local guys i use sorted it all out. also re did the 2 bolts holding the driveshaft shield as that was loose too  :surprised:  got knows how. they were querying maybe it was the peeps who fitted my Forge DV.

My car just came back from Richter Sports - with a nice and new Kufatec Bluetooth Kit installed.

Loving it!   :nerd: Apart from the trouch screen telephone gubbins...I also get an extra set of digital read outs on my MFD -  oil and water temp, revs, speed, turbo boost, litres of petrol left in tank.

Only issue is that my turbo boost read out shows nothing at the moment.  Looks like I will have to phone Richter just in case I'm doing something silly.

Apart from that the phone kit works a treat!!!  :driver:
