Dust Caps
« on: September 06, 2010, 10:15:22 am »
I took my wheels off at the weekend to Hammerite the hubs (very satisfying!), but noticed that the front two are missing their dust caps.

I haven't a clue how long they've been missing but I'm guessing it's been a while. What are the consequences of not having them, and can I pick some up from VW?

Some little scumbag nicked mine and normal size ones don't fit the TyreSure monitor valves I've got on my OZ's. Have been without for several months without problems so far but they do keep out grit etc.

I have some brand new unused theft-proof ones I could sell you. Let me know if interested and I'll find the receipt to work out a price.

Sorry Robin, I meant the caps that are missing from the pic below... Not sure of the correct name.

On mine, the fronts didn't have any but the backs did.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
