Yep. Covered and the VW dealership I went to even had a "Noise suppressant" specialist.

Seriously, they did, he even came out in the car wearing protective rubber gloves, so that he could prod bits of the dashboard without putting fingermarks on it.

Absolutely.  I took mine in last week to have a couple of "head being done in" squeaks and rattles checked out.  Car's going in on Friday for a new driver's seat base and a seatbelt assembly on Friday - all under Warranty.  :happy2:

That depends on a few things like....

Did you buy the car from the dealer recently
How far is "just" out of warranty
Have you raised the issue with the dealer before it was out of warranty

They may still charge you, but you hopefully should get a concession of some sort.

The centre airvent is absolutely is driving me up the wall. I've had it to pieces half a dozen times, bought new bits, got more 3m double sided tape than enough on all of it. 2 weeks later, it comes back again :fighting: :fighting: :fighting:

If anyone has any experience of sorting out a rattle behind the glovebox I would be forever in your debt.  I've had the fatherless son out a couple of times now and can't find anything obviously amiss.  Its not the climate 'tick' or the centre airvent.  This is a heavyish sound that happens when driving over rough ground (all of the roads round here) and almost sounds like someting bouncing up and down and hitting something else.

For long enough I thought it was CD boxes bouncing about in the glovebox until I discovered there weren't any in there  :stupid:

My car has a few annoying rattles but the worst is coming from the ski hatch/rear arm rest. I have taken it out of the car and rattle goes so I know it is this part. Has anyone else experienced a problem with this part? Any cure?

I am sure that someone posted a fix for a dashboard rattle (possibly around the centre air vent)…..

Crikey, guys! It's not an Audi.. Of course there'll be a minor few rattles 'n squeaks!

Unless particularly excessive I'm really surprised to hear that a VW dealer would be bothered.

No but its supposed to be an improvement over the mk4 golf.  Which had a much better put together interior.... its not too much to ask to be able to drive about without screws falling out behind the dashboard and what sounds like an angry woodpecker making a bid for freedom  :rolleye:
