Looking for some info on these as the solid grills around the fogs look mince

And If I'm planing on goin bigger brakes thought they'd help with the cooling! Can these be bought from the dealer and if so what price?

And info would be appreciated

They wont help much with brake cooling unless you add ducts from them right through the wheel arches.

There is a certain amount of air circulation from the 'open grills' but the driver's side is mostly blocked off behind.

Someone on this forum has ducted it all properly and hopefully will post here.

Open fog grills are easily available from Fischer in Germany and not at all expensive - Ã‚Â£30-ish?

I've got a pair of them sitting in the garage........ been waiting to get around to fitting them for a year or so now. Should get on with it, I know.

I'd go for these at the same time as uprated brakes. Then I could duct the brakes.

Or you could neatly cut a round hole in each stock (closed) grill - Might look very cool.
Most of the VW Cup race cars use the foglight aperture to run ducts from.

You'll probably need some kind of mesh/screen to stop leaves etc getting into the ducts.

Robin... there appears to be some 'ducting' behind yours in the picture taken (presumably) when you were fitting your DLRs, but this doesn't look as if it comes with either of the versions of the open grilles to which links have been given. Do I have to obtain this separately? I like the idea of the open grilles but worry about the untidy mess that would appear behind them if they're just large holes?!

The ones from vwspeed look like they don't come with the rear inserts!

The ones from fischermotor sport come with inserts; on the driver side it completely blocks the rear of the grill and on the passenger side you get a duct like insert that directs air to to behind the grill.

I didn't know until now that anyone supplied them without the rear 'inserts'!

Having seen Neil's at Santa Pod, I'm thinking of changing mine to carbonfibre ones
