Seat CUPRA VS CUPRA R
« on: September 28, 2010, 12:57:51 pm »
Missing my olde edition 30 too much at the moment, thought about the above.

Am I right in thinking the Cupra uses the same engine as the Edition 30? and if so why would anyone buy the R version for an extra 5k?

Will VW bring out a 2WD Gti with 265 as seat has done?

Cheers Guys.

Thats the Rocco R 265 with 2 WD.  There was alot of talk about the ed35 going on but still nothing confirmed, but I would assume less power than the R's.

5Dr Black GTI, DSG, Leather, Xenons. Retrofitted - Cruise, RNS 510, MFSW, Armrest, Skoda BT, 6cd changer, Monza II's, VW speaker upgrade kit, Lux pack, High-line, new CAN gateway, Polar FIS info display, R32 tinted rear lights, RVC

To Come...NQSBBK, highline CCM.

That answered my questions....as I thought to be honest.

Just cant see myself in one after the ED30.

Like the MK6 GTI but want the power of the R but not paying 30k for a Golf! Need 5 doors so to Rocco is out.

Could ebay the kids I suppose..................

....Why be bothered by the badge on the car if a Golf best suits your needs?

If beyond your current budget, why not get a second-hand one?

Anyway, isn't the 5-door Audi equivalent also going to cost £30k+ new? The RS3 is rumoured to be nearer £40k.

Cheers, Jules  :drinking:

I noticed today that the RS3 wasn't listed on the Paris Show exhibits. The good news is that I'm not tempted.

I test drove a pre-facelift Cupra and it nearly broke my back! I genuinely couldn't stand up straight for about 2 minutes after getting out of it. The ride was bone-crushing!

I guess that "shockingly firm" ride means harsh rather than just hard.
