Can the scuff on this leather seat be sorted ?
« on: October 07, 2010, 12:31:54 pm »
Looking at this car on efilth and it seems nicely specced but has a few annoyances.

Bodywork and wheels are no biggy but the seat is pretty badly worn (I'd say pretty excessively for 57k)

Just wondering if anyone knows if a trim place would be able to do anything with this or whether you'd have to get a new seat.. I dread to think what that would cost.

Opinions on the car very welcome to..

thanks in advance.

That does look pretty worn. Could be a replacment piece of leather ?. A good interiour trimmer should sort it. There is a bloke close to me in Harrogate who is great with car interiours. :happy2:

Mine was way worse than that when I bought the car  :happy2:

I bought a leather and vinyl repair kit off ebay and sorted it in about 30 mins. Now you'd never know there was a rip at all

Oh, and for reference.... that's not leather where you have the scuff, it's vinyl! Only the front faces of teh seat are leather  :happy2:

They do indeed  It's still vinyl though. Not quite as bad as calling it faux leather

They should just call it what it is... FAKE leather, and be done with it!

An expert should be able to spray a new finish onto it , or like above buy a kit and have a go yourself

Cheers for all the replies although I got out bid on this one :-( well worth knowing that something like that can be sorted in case others pop up with bad 'leather' scuffs .

thanks again

Any links to this kit?  I have a bit of scuffing on the bolster in much the same place as on the car the OP posted but no where near as bad.

I do have to smile when people advertise cars as "immaculate" and they  have horrific curbing to alloys and tatty interiors!

Plastic immitation leather i call it...
