Is it easy enough to swap the standard twist controls to digital?

I would say not.I take it you just have ''standard'' air con & not climate ?.

yea. have heated leather trim to, but not connected.

Just not sure if all the looms/wires would be there....or would VW just have fitted a std minimun loom

You can get the heated seats to work without having climatronic, but the loom wont be there whatever you have.

Iv got climatic in my car and i retro fitted the heated seats.

You just need a wiring loom from kufactec, new climatic/ climatronic panel with heated seat rollers and a spare half a day to fit it all!!

Oh and fitting climatronic to a car with climatic is possible but not recommended!!

It's a pretty massive job and not one for the faint hearted. The whole heating/climate system needs replacing and it's far from cheap. My advice would be either live with what you have or be prepared to shell out hundreds to replace it  :happy2:
