VIM bypass on RNS510 LED ?
« on: October 17, 2010, 09:34:50 pm »
Does anyone know how to get the Video in Motion bypass (pressing i button then Tone) working on a RNS510 LED ?

It worked fine on my older version B RNS but doesnt seem to work on the Star button RNS510's.

I know on version b, if you upgraded the firmware, you'd lose the ability. I do wonder whether it was a deliberate move on the part of VW.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Did you have any luck with finding a bypass?

You cannot do the VIM on firmware 2660 and above,  although it can still be bypassed by people with the right tools.  spea to a company called UV Worldwide I'm sure Sarg charges about £50 to do this which is a dam sight cheaper than buying the Kufatec VIM cable.
