sprayed grille?
« on: October 22, 2010, 04:27:59 pm »
just bin to the body shop to check the progress on my gti. having the skirts and the front and rear plastic bits colour coded and when i got there the bloke who runs it. i Know pritty well looked a little sheepish. he asked if i wanted the grille sprayed to which i replied no and told me the lad who was prepingthe car got a bit carried away and keyed up the centre grille and the front badge. anyone seen this done before. my cars black so i would imagine it will look ok. cant realy complain to him as he has done it all for £250. and he is a very good and reputable garage.

on a side note he had two 430 ferrari's in there at the time and bentley continental GT in blue. very nice

Not sure how that will end up looking but either way i should think a few miles and stones bouncing off it will quickly ruin it whether it looks good or not.
Personally, i'd want it kept unpainted...... Its around £100 for a US Spec grill which is smooth instead of the plate mountings, then do the magnet mod thats in the How to section and it'll look 10x better....... I'd try reach a compromise to get it replaced TBH

Ask them to fill the holes, smooth it over and vinyl wrap for you!

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
