I really can't see how it would be worth it. Why draw attention to yourself? Get the wrong person and they might decide to check your car out more thoroughly

Though I'm not averse to occasionally breaking the law, as far as my car is concerned it's totally legal and I do everything I can to keep it that way.

Illegal plates just make the owner look like an ostentatious fool!  :stupid:

RR are you sure the spacing between your 5 and R are correct because that should be a certain distance if i remember correctly. By putting the badge on the left of the plate it pushes the letters/numbers closer!!

whats the consequences of running illegal plates?

Points, fine, both?

All of the above and if it's a private plate they can actually take it off you via the DVLA.

Mmmm ive been playing around with my plate, and im trying to come up with a legal solution.

Where can one find out the requirements as to what makes a plate legal?

Look here mate  http://www.regtransfers.co.uk/main/car_numberplates_regulations.asp

Its got a lot to do with ANPR cameras as they dont pick up the registrations properly, when mis-spaced or wrong fonts.
All to do with road safety
Thing is if your car has an illegal plate on it and it gets stolen, you will be the fist to moan that the ANPR cameras didnt pick it up!!!
As the neds whore it up and down the motorways trying to max it out

And some of the fancy curly fonts that some people have are quite difficult to read and may not be legible in a hit & run situation.

FOR SALE!

many many years ago (over 16 i'd guess)when you could ask the shop to alter the spacing on your no plate and no one seemed that bothered i had     M5 5OUL on the car and no i'm not a vicar ,it was in the days when i spent my weekends with the wife going up  and down the country to the weekenders and allnighters.Today my plates are 100% legal, but people still ask me where that plate is.

Woo, number plates. Who gives a toss about fancy spaces or letters? It's hardly "personalisation", it's just a waste of money.

"oooh yes I wish to "customise" my governmentally-generated governmentally-issued alphanumeric sequence!"
