I'd really like to get some coilys but there are so many things putting me off.

I love my H&R springs with the standard shocks but I really love to go a little lower.

I suppose I'm worried about the ride comfort and rubbing. At the moment with the H&R's the ride is great and there's no rubbing at all.  I don't want to buy some coilys, have em fitted, then realise I want go back to the springs.

my friend has h&r ultralows on his mk5 gti and it rides way nicer than mine and ive got the same set up as you.

yeah very smooth and not crashy or bouncy at all.

I'd do them myself but I think my car looks to sit a bit lower than yours at the front so im happy with my stance at the moment.. and the ultralows are about £1k i think plus fitting and I wouldnt even run them THAT much lower than what i have now so complete waste of money for me.

If anything I'm gonna get the bilstein dampers next

Im in the same situation as you guys, running h&r springs on oem shocks, height and ride quality fine, but one of shocks on way out,  trying get some funds together get decent set coilivers, really dont want hard trashy ride i have had it on precious car nothing worse  :stupid:, seems to me wont get alot change out of £750-£1000 for decent set, and then you have no guarantee its right for you. Be interesting to hear how you get on with your new set keano ( fk highsport )  :happy2:

Okay. Managed to have the FK Highsports fitted the other weekend.  :jumpmove: After a weeks use, please find a small, unbiased write up....

For the people who said that the ride is just like stock, you clearly have underlying numbness in your back and I suggest you have it checked by a qualified doctor, as these coilovers are far from comfortable. However, saying that, what should you expect from a coilover unit that can drop 100mm and cost less than £400 brand new?

To compare them to the APs that I had on previously, I would say they are slightly softer, however, I guess the APs had some underlying damping issues from extensive use.
They absorb bumps in the road slightly better, but they do have a fair bit more body roll as a result.

The drop on these bad boys are insane. If you wanted to, I imagine you could have the front bumper pretty much sat on the floor, as I have about 2.5 to 3 inches further room to wind them down!

Price. Hmmm. I guess £370 isn't too bad of a price in order to set the car at what ever height you like. They are by no means top of the range, ding dang dooly, swing swong swishers, ping pong panger, ting tong tingly coilover units that could be used extensivly on track, but I suppose they are more than suitable for fast road use and getting down with the gangstaz at a show at the weekend.

Would I buy them again? - Probably...yeah.

The look you get for under £400 is Amazing Keano but I feared that the ride would be harsh!

Air-ride sounds like your best option, but for the money, the FK's certainly score Very high in the looks department

The stance in the photo is Awesome  :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

Ha thanks Rex  :happy2:

Fitted the 215/35 tyres. They have gotten rid of all the rubbing issues on the front, however they look quite hilarious. Literally rubber bands so they mayyyyy need to be swapped again lol :innocent:

Surprisingly good ride though, I was expecting a much crashier ride...

Today I decided that it was time to reinstate the summer wheels with some added stupid rubber

Having been sat in the garage for a month (unwashed) my first task was to give them a good seeing to with some Iron-X and Gtechniq.

Then here comes the silly stuff

In hind sight, I probably wouldn't have put 215/40 tyres on a 9" wheel as the ride is garbage   However, I have managed to gain alot more rear clearance and wind the coileys down a touch  :happy2:
