Filled up at 117.9.  Pump just said we've lowered V power by 5p but not that it was just for one day?

Petrol slowly degrades over time, so it'll be 98+ RON when refined and gradually drops down thereafter. If you fill up and then don't use the car for several weeks, the rating declines, which can become problematic, especially if remapped.

D'oh! 

Thanks for pointing the promotion out in the first place.  I took advantage and can't believe how much of an improvement certainly in terms consumption that the V-Power has made.  I've been sticking supermarket 99RON stuff in up until now.  The Shell Drivers Club have just increased their membership by one!
