Many thanks JMP. Got an original VW part ordered for £15 delivered so happy days! Will give it a go this weekend if the replacement arrives before then. I have no access to a vag com, only an ODBII tool which shows no errors - hoping that its just the one sensor which is the issue as the others seem to respond to going into reverse with the internal clicking I mentioned. Do you just paint the top circle of the sensor or do you paint around the sides too? Thinking of getting this done first before taking the bumper off.

I painted the top which is the only part visible. I also painted the rubber surround. After I had done the painting I noticed that the original sensors didnt have paint on the thin rubber part but still seems to work fine. I used the small brush paint intented for fixing small rock etc paint scratches and it was perfect. I cant tell a difference between original and my own paint job :)

Many thanks mate - here's hoping that the part turns up tomorrow now so that I can fix it this weekend and then let the wife lose on the car!  :rolleye:

Oh, I came across this today and was amazed when I saw what it could do so had to buy it.... it works pretty well to cover up minor scratches so had to share it (no, I do not work for JML!  :P)

Got the part and got it fitted on Saturday only to find that another sensor is broke! The casing is split and it doesnt always work so now have to order another and start again! Oh joy!
