Took the car in for its 3rd year T&D service plus first MOT.

One of the bleed nipples on the front brake caliper had seized. Rather than risk causing damage and leaving me stranded in Stratford, Listers have asked me to bring the car back in a week's time (problems with work for me) to rebleed as they will make sure the caliper is there at the garage.

My questions:
Is it normal to have seized caliper nipples? If not, what could have caused it? VW Solihull at one point had to replace the rear ABS sensor - I presume this has nothing to do with it?

What are the chances of them actually breaking the caliper if they try too hard?

the worse they can do i assume is thread it...in which case its their fault and they replace the caliper.

Not massivly common, but I do see it from time to time.  I usually use a 6 sided socket to slacken the nipples off rather than a multipoint spanner.  It might not be seized, but just tight.  As the nipples are hollow they can just snap then the part left in the caliper would need drilling out.

Its no ones fault, just unlucky.
