4 Wheel Alignment advice please?
« on: December 17, 2010, 10:17:24 am »
Hi guys,  :santa:

Last night I whacked a fairly large pothole at about 20mph.

Nothing too bad, but it played on my mind all the way home that my steering wheel was slightly off center.

Also, I lowered the car slightly (35mm) the other week, so now will be the ideal time to get it done.

Have you guys heard of the Hunter 4 Wheel Alignment machine thing? There is a chap near me with one and it looks rather swanky & expensive

Is it worth getting it done?

Merry Christmas,

Nick  :happy2:

To say my car is lowered on Sportlines. Will the alignment have to be reset to factory? Or will custom settings have to be aligned? ( if that makes sense?   )

Just got back from Auto Dynamics. The lads are very very clued up.

Had an overall check to find damage, tyre pressures corrected and then aligned.

The front camber was out on the drivers side and so was the toe on both. - Probably down to the small lowering, and the dreaded pot hole!

Everything is sorted now and it drives much better. Feels more planted to the road if that makes sense?

I'd tell you how much it was, but i forgot my wallet, so I'm going to go back and pay tomorrow ha.

And just for the record. The guys are Auto Dynamics, Sheffield, Attercliffe Road.

^^^Isn't that the same road as Statlers?

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
