Hi all
When starting my gti from cold the cambelt makes a squeaking / chirping noise. VW Wepstbury said it was a noisy cambelt. They put some 'powder' on it which worked for a bit but its still doing it from cold. Anyone else had this problem?

Yes sounds like the cambelt and tensioner need replacing.
The previous owner of my GTI had this done due to the noise at cold starts (under extended warranty).

As above , sounds like the cam belt tensioner , I think warranty will sort this for you the cost off belt and tensioner and labour but I am sure you will be advised to replace the water pump as a precautionary and they cost around £30 iirc .
