Yes , myself and also Mandy have complained to VW over this, and each time, fault cannot be traced. Mines had it for well over a year or so, and hasnt got any worse. So not that fussed that anything major is wrong.

I can under stand what you are saying in terms of it not bothering you because it don't make the noise all the time, however i'm the most fussy F**ker around and being a machanic and not knowing what it is is really bothering.

I had both front struts, suspention spring assemblys and top guide bushes replaced. All ball joints inspected, and it still does it occasionally only on full left lock when coming off a small kerb only.

If you have any other idea's then please say? Mines in for its annual service again this wednesday.

I've taken my car to VW so many times about this knocking noise and they got so fed up with me in the end!  :signLOL: Had it looked at by my mechanic friend, just seems to be a noisy cv joint, doubt VW would class it as a 'fault'.

Does it do it at low speed only or when driving as well?

I also had a knocking noise on mine, but did it at speed as well. After a year with the dealer trying to sort out, had a couple on engineers from VW HQ come for a test drive. Went back to Milton Keynes twice and it was resovled in the end by changing the washers between the chassis and sub frame.
