....It's not clear to me who you're asking, but plenty of NVH with aftermarket harder engine mounts and coilover suspension but I don't call it "NVH", I call it "Feedback" and I'd much rather have it that way. The noise is mostly exhaust music with some Grrrrr from the engine mounts and lower gear whine. The vibration is just a light buzz occasionally and the ride is hard but not harsh unless you're fool enough to drive too fast over large potholes. Plenty of squeaks from the cabin plastics. It might be a comfy 5-door car you can drive all day and never feel tired but mine isn't a marshmallow caccoon family saloon.

Carbonfibre bonnet with no soundproofing also helps. It all depends what you want from your car - Each To Their Own  :happy2:

It is a balance....

A full rose jointed suspension can feel great on super smooth tracks n bloody awful on anything but

I personally want to avoid the 'crash, judder, shimmer' and have an engaging every day drive

the ARBs, WALK will not change any of the NVH.  The coilovers will/wont dependant on the roads.  The good thing about the bilsteins is you can have a road and a track set up, therefore the best of both worlds, especially as they are so easy to adjust.

....That's definitely one of the advantages of Bilstein over KW but I find the KW-V3's a perfect compromise for fast road and occasional trackday use and don't feel the need for further adjustment for each session.

As Carrera2RS says, it's definitely a balance. I would only add that what feels a comfortable ride for one person isn't for another.

I hope I can get the right balance with the Billies, as I understand the KW v3's and PSS9/10's are similar when set up correctly, or appropriately

I have also used Eibach coilovers, Koni struts and springs and a PSS9 kit on the same car (an E39 M5) and really liked the PSS9 as it was so adjustable, with some prior experience of setting up suspension (but not nearly enough !) It took some time to get a balance that I liked. My girlfriend did get a bit bored of lay-by's as they were usually an opportunity  for me to get out, lean under the car and adjust.....

Having spoken to a few that do know what they are doing, I recognise the potential for me to get very lost with bump and rebound...  10 settings front and rear, easy adjustment with a kit I have used before persuaded me

I am very happy with a well damped thud and slight skipping over undulating surfaces, much less happy with 'crashing' over bumps. My last car was superb in this respect, an E90 M3 with nothing more than H&R springs. I fitted them quite quickly after purchase and never wanted to change after. I just moved from middle to full stiff depending how much I was pushing the car. The 'hard' setting felt a little skittish unless you were really loading it up. The 'comfort' was juts too soft for me, I don't want to drive a limo even in traffic.

I hope I can get a compromise to suit  :scared:

Sounds as if you know exactly what you want to achieve. You'll get there even if after a few lay-by's - Remind the gf how patiently you wait outside while she does some shopping

with that in mind id probably purchase all the kit, then get VWR to fit it all for you.  Probably better equipped with the knowledge to setting it up than any other independent VAG 'specialists' out there
