Wheel Bearing Help Please
« on: January 06, 2011, 08:27:17 pm »
I need some help guys, I've got a rear wheel bearing away on my GTi so I went to TPS today to get a replacement and was told that there are two different sizes listed for my car 30mm and 32mm.

My car is an 05 GTi, anyone know which size i need?

Cheers
Kenny

i would hope they had! saying that, ive been caught out by tps in the past where they apparently checked the chassis number, and somehow gave me a 5 stud disc for a 4 stud car

Just make sure that it is deffo wheel bearings that you can hear. These cars have an issue with rear tyre wear, some brands worse than others, which sounds exactly like wheel bearing noise. Have a look at the inside edge of the tyre for a strange pattern of wear.

The tyre wear issue is a big problem. Mainly seen with Dunlop Sport Maxx.
