Well I don't know why they want so much, at work when I drive cars there is a 2500 excess if I crash!
I've never crashed (touch wood) no points, 1 years no claims, 21 years old,
Daylight robbery! Im awaiting a response from greenlight

Good luck with it jack but to be honest you will struggle to insure a group 18 car at a decent price at your age. I waited till 25 and insurance plummeted then a year later modified the car because greenlight will want you to already have a year in a performance car. If you can afford it it's different I guess but be patient young grasshopper! My insurance is now 700 quid at stage 2+ but was 1500 standard when I bought the car  :happy2:

I'd snap somones hand off with Insurance @2500!!
I don't drink or smoke and just spend all my money on my cars, I know insurnance is allways going to kill me tho but I'm just going to have to bite the bullet!
Does Insurnace on a manual cost more than a dsg?

when I was looking I said to myself if I couldnt get anything for less than 1200 I'd buy a 1.6l standard golf until NCB started to make a difference....

you'd have to be crazy to spend 4k on insurance :stupid:

i got my edition 30 when i was 21, think i paid £1200, with 1 years no claims. That was with my parents on as named drivers, otherwise they wanted £1900.

If your not looking to mod straight away then try all the insurance search engines e.g confused.com etc. i found that my first 2 years of ownership admiral and elephant (both same company) were the best priced for young drivers. Of course if you mention a remap etc then they say no.
Of course it also depends where you live etc, also my car is kept in a garage and only used for social.

As mentioned already if your planning on modding then try Adrain flux or Greenlight, im currently with Greenlight
