Odd colour
« on: January 13, 2011, 09:16:37 pm »
I saw what I'm sure was a mk5 the other day and it was a colour I've never seen before. It was a pale metallic red and the closest colour I can think of to compare it to is Vauxhall's Pomegranate Red, but a little pinker maybe (example below). Any ideas?

Probably a custom paint job. GTIs came is specific colours and the closest thing to red is 'Tornado Red'.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Apologies, it wasn't a GTI, as you say, though, it must've been a one-off, as I think the standard Golf only came in TR, as well.

You could get the normal mk5 in metallic red but not the GTI though unless you imported it from Germany as a special order colour.

Ex mk5 GTI owner, moved to a mk6 in 2010.
