S3 Jacking pads to a MK5 Golf - Can it be done?
« on: January 17, 2011, 08:48:34 pm »
I have heard that this can be done on a Scirocco but can it be done on a MK5 Golf? Anything that makes the car a bit more stable is good news!

Has anyone done this?

It works the same on the golf, the other option is to jack up from the sill using a pinch weld jack adaptor Like below

Audi dealers have them for about 15 squid I think, Make sure you stuff them in the correct hole under there. There are 2 holes on the fronts and it can easily be put in the wrong one ( ask JPC )   The design is such that once they are locked in with the weight of the car, they are not coming out without a serious fight.  :rolleye:

Ahhh with you :happy2:

I made one of these out of a block of wood, but mine is not the safest thing in the world.

I guess that's how I got the nickname bodger

Well there can be an issue with the Jack pads, there really meant for jacking the car up on a proper ramp, not one side at a time, some user have reported issues with bending the metal under them, mine are fine though.

Anyone know if this little mod would fit a MK2 Leon?

Is a very good mod, however I have never seen anyone talk of this on a MK2 Leon on the Seat forum.

I don't want to order the parts then find out it won't work.

Yeah, I would assume so, however I have"nt had a chance to see under both cars, but after scrutineering Shauns photo's above I'm sure I could see if mine looked the same underneath.
