Cheers! Looks good with the Edition badge on the grille... Do you have any other pics of that and how does it fix on?

If you get an edition 30 badge (the one thats meant for the boot) from either ebay or the dealers, it sticks straight on with the adhesive strip on the back

Looks to be a great spec.

I was wondering what the black circle was too!

I haven't got much to update at the moment but I recently upgraded the firmware of my RNS510 to the modified 2760 version and it all went smoothly thanks to the guide on here! :happy2:

The modified version works perfectly without any battery drain on my (I assume) K version CAN-BUS, and enables other features too such as the test menu.

I just need to obtain the v7 maps now for full 7-digit postcode search (preferably not at the cost VW charge for them!).

Time for a proper update...

I bought a US spec grill courtesy of damo666 on here, and he was even kind enough to throw in the black badge too! :happy2:

It left me thinking of what to do about the front number plate and so I decided the best method would be to use magnets as others have done.

Here's the parts ready to be assembled:

I used neodymium N42 magnets with a pull of 6.4kg. Do not do end up getting them all stuck together like I did as they are a PITA to get apart again!

Firstly I glued on the magnets to the number plate, spacing them about 11cm apart:

Then I covered them with weatherproof cloth tape which helps in keeping them secure too:

Next I held up the plate to the grill where I wanted it to go and placed the magnets on the back:

I then removed them one at a time to glue into place and finally covered them again with weatherproof tape:

And here's the finished shots!  :pomppomp:

Do you have a pic of the number plate on, especially the top view so we can see how the plate is attached to the grille?

Here's a couple of the plate attached (excuse the dirtyness of the car!) - I'll take a picture from above tomorrow.

They are 5mm magnets so the plate sticks out slightly but not much; less than it would with the standard holder on anyway!

Did you curve the plate or is it flat and hence sticks out at the edges? Sorry, on Iphone so pics don't come out great. I think topcat had to curve his number plate.

It's a standard plastic plate so bends correctly as I've spaced out the 5 magnets in a line.

Top Cat was using a metal plate, and that's why I'm assuming he had to bend it. :happy2:
