As I said a few posts ago, during my last Nurburgring trip I got to film the laps from many angles.
This is the 'first person' angle. As you can see it is a little bit bumpy but that's how a Nurburgring trip is...
It is not the fastest lap, not even close. It was partially damp, with a lot of traffic and the BTG time is of 10:17, well above the 8:56 best lap and identical to by 4th ever lap of the North Loop, when I was really inexperienced and the car had no mods except for the REVO remap. But, I wanted to share the video because some of you might like this camera position and decide to try it for yourselves.
Behind me is my friend Stefan (Acidutzul) and a Rent4Ring 125i (overtakes me at Lauda Links):

Thanks for watching!  :driver:

With time, I grow happier and happier with the new R32 instrument cluster. Initially I liked the Blue/Red color scheme but after seeing Audi's (for example) I began to like the White background more. This is, in fact, why I went for the R32 instrument cluster and not the GTI one.
In the beginning I had the blue/red instrument cluster, the blue/red RCD 300 and the blue/red climate control. Since then I changed both the instrument cluster and the radio (with RCD 510).
Now the only 2 thing left blue are the instrument cluster dials and the climate control temperature reading:

I friend of mine has a mk6 climate control (very cheap) and I am considering changing the climate control also. The climate control hidden menu is unpleasant in the mk6 and I use the hidden menu a lot for speed and coolant temperature... So, this is a big minus... But then there are the looks... What do you think, will the interior look better with a mk6 or mk5 climate control? Or is the mk5 climate control complementing the R32 dials better?

Thanks, in advance, for the help!  :drinking:

P.S. There are some R32 clock for sale in the sale region. They are a bit pricy but if you like the above photos you might want to check them out (no connection with the seller).

I think I will continue to do so for quite some time since I have no plan of selling it.
And there still are a lot of mods to be done...

Personally I think the MK6 climate control panel goes better with the RNS  :happy2:
Thanks for the feedback and for all your help regarding the mk6 climate control!  :notworthy:

So, as I was saying, a friend of mine has a mk6 climatronic for sale.
He is selling the climate control, the air quality sensor, the frame and some spare connectors for 62 GBP (didn't really look around for prices but this seems to be a great deal):

The climatronic has this code:

He just went on vacation and gave me the whole lot to install and see if it all works well.
I just couldn't refuse him so I will try out the climatronic for the next weeks and it all works well I will buy it.

There are DIY topic for installing the mk6 climatronic (the most important being this one, but not on this forum (or I did not find them).
One thing I've done differently is that, since I had some spare connectors, I decided to make this operation reversible and not cut any wires. I used a spare 20 pin cable and attached a new socket:

I used cable to connect the pin 16 from Connector A to pin 20 from Connector A. I left the pin 20 unplugged.

I did not install the Air Quality Sensor and I will do this at a later time (hopefully).
All works fine but I have 2 errors I have to look for and solve:

13701456 - ROD - Unknown Error Code

             Freeze Frame:
                    Fault Status: 00000001
                    Fault Priority: 6
                    Fault Frequency: 1
                    Reset counter: 238
                    Mileage: 47708 km
                    Date: 2000.00.00
                    Time: 13:49:14

So, what do you think? Is this a keeper?

Can see this becoming a more popular interior mod. I like it.

Moving over to Flickr, sorry for the broken picture links!
