KW have just launched this ubercool product : -

But!! It's currently only for a few supercars and costs anything from £2,800 - £6,000.

However, I had a long chat with KW today and their German team is currently developing their HLS system for other than expensive supercars. They fully realise that there is a healthy market for 'lesser' cars and that the price needs to be reduced dramatically. Currently there is all sorts of electronic wizardry which needn't be included in the wider market.

Our beloved Mk5 GTI suffers on ramps etc from having a relatively long front overhang and so the problem in indoor carparks etc is very real.

I was assured that once their HLS had been developed for the GTI (on their list), VW Racing (who are tailor making my KW suspension) can easily swop springs to the same ratings I will have so I could have HLS and still retain my handling characteristics. It would be a simple toggle switch operated manually - Perfect! Yet another reason why I'm glad I have gone to VWR - I invariably have to wait weeks and weeks for a workshop slot and dates change at the last minute but it's always been soooo worth it!

Of course it remains to be seen how affordable the HLS will be for us mortals who don't drive supercars but KW know they need to price it right to achieve the sales.

£2,800 - £6,000 for the likes of Porsches and Lambo's.

£unknown for the Mk5 GTI until the product version is further developed.

I saw these advertized a while back and eilbach i think have got them for Mk5 already could be wrong on that one though.
I think only you can afford the pimp mod.

just had a look at the video, its a good idea but i wonder do you have to be stopped to raise it, could you imagine driving down the road and having to stop dead to raise it up and then go over and stop and lower it again? bit of a pain id say but i would say thats just the first round of ideas that they are doing, just do what i do drive up slow and crawl over
on another note isnt she just bet into them tight ass jeans

I think you can adjust them on the move as you say it would be pointless to do otherwise.
Ps i am only jelous that i dont dare go that low with mine i dont think it would be suitable to my type of driving.

....No, you can operate them on the move but only below a certain speed.

Also, they are more valuable for ramps than speed bumps. You can't negotiate a ramp.

this looks like a cool bit of kit BUT would you really change the susspension on your 997 turbo?? can KW make better susspension than porsche? would you swap your audi R8 susspension for an aftermarken KW coilover?? im not sure as i dont own a super car, so i asked my dad, he said no

Well, apparently quite a few people already do change their suspension on their Porsches etc, be it to Bilstein or KW.

I don't know who makes Porsche suspension so can't meaningfully comment about whether KW's would be an improvement or not. But given KW's adjustability and spec I wouldn't be at all surprised if their product is better than stock - People in motorsport seem to think so.

KW are aftermarket specialists and therefore must offer suspensions which are supposed to be an improvement.

Quite apart from that, HLS is an extremely desirable feature = Cool bit of kit - Not for cosmetic reasons but for functional reasons.

I'd much rather have the useful functionality of HLS than a K04 upgrade.

That would be really handy for me , as i scrape the bottom of my OEM splitter on the small ramp that leads into my garage - it also means that I cannot colourcode or switch to carbon as I am too scared of causing damage , its just a shame that it costs so much!

people do, thats why they run em on the race cars, i agree though, i would leave it, but then again i would not be taking a 997 turbo on track, too busy licking it is a cool piece of kit

I had a go in a Scirocco fitted with these at Inters in 2009 and wasn't very impressed: It only raises the car a small measurement and imo it's not worth it for the amount of money they're asking.
