"Luxury Leather" GTI option????
« on: January 31, 2011, 02:57:06 pm »
A friend is looking at getting a GTI and he has just shown me a car that the seller quotes "Full Luxury Leather (Upgrade Better Than Vienna Leather)"  Can anyone clarify if the seller is full of it or if there was an additional leather upgrade option?  From the pics it looks the same colour but this car does have the electric seats and some other expensive options?

Cheers

Rich

Rich its an import and possible that other EU countries did include an option for upgrade leather but I couldn't swear to it.  The upgrade electric seats where never an option in the UK we just got the electric lumber,

I would say personally the advertiser is talking through is bum or it had a retrim before the seller bought it himself.

Someone I know has an early Mk5 GTI in Laser Blue (later discontinued) and beige/biscuit coloured leather throughout. It looks better than it sounds. It was a factory option once upon a time. Very rare.

Cheers for the response, import or re-trim makes sense although it just looks like the normal anthracite leather.

Robin think I remember someone on here having the beige leather think it was a eastern european car always looked a shock in pictures whe your used to seeing dark carpet but sure the contrast looks nicer in the flesh.

I've got one with a beige leather interior :-)

Here in Belgium there were 2 leather options, but as far as I know, they only differed in colour.

I quite like it too - Much better looking than any English Ford interior!

You could bring your dinner up on the golf interior and it would still be better than any ford effort

Although I love the interior, I can't help but feel matching floor mats would improve it further.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
