Quick question S3/R32 rear brakes
« on: February 03, 2011, 07:22:31 am »
I am on the hunt for a set off rear Brakes , I have looked high and low and followed all the leads from members on here , I have found two sets on flebay  both wanting £300 when I factor in the cost of a refurb and change off colour to Red I am thinking i am getting near the price off a new set ..

Are the sets on ebay to expensive ?? Are the rears a complete barstewards to strip and refurb ??.

I have been looking for several weeks for the Fronts or a set and have just bought a Brand New set for the front because none turned up .

I am now looking for the rear set .Any advice on taking them apart if I buy a new set as 100% they must be red.

Where would be the best place to buy from Audi or VW  ,Would i get a better price from a VW dealer ,The price for rears is circa £500 new plus cost off colour change

.
Try posting a request for some in Wanted Car Parts section of this site. They sometimes come up for sale. I bought my rears here for about £220 I think but don't remember exactly but certainly well under £300.

Audi ones are usually black calipers, and R32 are blue, but if you want them red I strongly recommend using proper heat resistant caliper paint by a company called Savage - It comes as a kit.

Do a Search if you want to know how to fit them or for everything you need to buy. Splash guards?

Unless my man at seat is wrong he said the fronts are exactly the same as S3/R32, but the rear set seat use is a std GTI set up so i wouldnt gain anything

Do you know if that is wrong info ???.I have bought a Brand new set off front in Red from Seat as did Flyboy1976 he has his fitted all ok .

I managed to get the whole front set up delivered to my door £645 .
