Good to see the build is going well chap  :happy2: That K155 driver looks very new to me, must be a 90s production one.
What's the micro on there, I can see it's by Microchip so guessing it's a PIC16 of some kind? VCC and HV numbers look good  :drinking:

You have an eagle eye... its a PIC16F1936, whatever the heck that is!  :scared:

All the board and components are new... its just the tubes that are old.  :happy2:

Well.. its done. Taken me about 5 hours today and about  2 hours yesterday. Im over the moon with it  :ashamed:

It's a pretty standard 16-bit microcontroller, I used an earlier version (16F877A) in quite a few projects at uni and at home so I'm quite familiar with the family.
Nowadays no one makes their own micro boards, they just use an Arduino...

Reason I comment on the newness of the K155 driver is that they aren't made any more! The drivers I used on my clock were 80s-vintage, and IIRC production must've stopped in the mid-nineties unless someone's restarted. OC all the other bits apart from the tubes will be brand new.

These are lovely little devices to have, and getting scarce as the world supply of Nixie tubes is used up. They don't make them any more!

I was actually wondering where Rich's IN-8 tubes come from as I thought the supply of them was exhausted a couple of years ago. Someone must've found another warehouse full of them!  :laugh:

All you guys need are some flux capacitors and time circuits.... :signLOL:

LOL, one of the fun things to do in life is go to a PC World and ask them if they had any flux capacitors in stock, the guy would go off to check and then you could make your hasty exit!  :signLOL:

Didn't use to work in Maplin though, those guys were too geeky  :rolleye:

Im going to plan out a case tomorrow. Im also going to see about modifying a top air vent to house the clock with the tubes poking out of the top of the grill.  :smiley:
