Mine is in a TL Darby (Burton) on sat.

ToddMK5GTI, Make sure they have the parts in stock before you take yours in, as mine has been booked in twice now.
And dont let the upgrade your software on your car as it will wipe you remap off, Just make them aware of this when you drop your keys off.

Booked in for next Thursday at Volkswagen Warrington. As my car is an 06 GTI it rarely goes near the dealers nowadays so without this thread I probably would never have known it needs doing.

When booking it in i spoke with the customer service manager, he seemed a little reluctant at first, but eventually came around to the idea and booked it in for 9 am wed I'll make sure they've got them in stock before leaving the keys and mention the remap,  cheers Jaywoo  :happy2:

They should know all about the recall now because i was the one who told them about it.
Any problems ask for Alison because she knows all about the recall and so do the lads in parts.

Had 4 fitted to my car today. As you'd expect on a healthy car it has made no difference at all to the way the car drives. Took the dealer 1hr 20 to do the job, and the mechanic went searching in the boot for some odd reason.

Want would be handy is for the cooling fans to be on recall.....

The reason he went in the boot was to put the recall sticker under the carpet  :happy2:

Rang my dealers this afternoon, going for 4 new ones 1st thing in the morning :happy2:

The woman on the service desk was surprised I knew about it as it has only just been released apparently, i'm the first in the Carlisle area to have it done.

wonder if this affects a 2007 57 plate seat cupra 2.0tfsi as it has just started misfiring, i know they changed the plugs from the 2008 model year onwards
