Well on Saturday I done a deal with a guy to swap his leather recaros for mine plus a wee bit money his way, so 3 o'clock on Saturday I went round to the unit and half an hour or so later the car looked like this

I took the time to Hoover under where the seats go and gave the cloth seats a wee Hoover up for the boy

And a few hours waiting about the guy showed up with the goods and I got them fitted

I just need to get the door cards and arm rest retrimmed to match as the guy never had leather door cards, but overall I'm pretty happy with the seats :-D

A wee update with plenty pics

sourced myself a leather armrest

Couldnt get any door cards in leather so decided to strip mine out and send them off to transcal for some leather and red stitching

and while it was in i thought id send away the dsg shifter for a retrim too with red stitching and i picked up an edition 30 handbrake cover

and heres the door cards back

I stripped down the front grill for a freshen up and a colour change

managed to break one of the slats  :headbang:

while the car was lying in pieces was the perfect time for some machine polishing
before refining

after finish polish

a few things came through the post
100% legal short plate from ebay

removable plate suction cup kit from gecleant.de (tested to 130mph private motorway lol)

Glass wiper blank from gecleant.de

Polished up the wheels

waxed the car

managed to source another slat and get it painted and back to me just in time for cumbria vag show
fitted at half 10 on friday night

chrome paint was going for the original finish so not a bright chrome but more a smoke chrome it turned out not bad i think thanks to touch ups for getting it done for me in time especially with the replacement slat arriving at them 12 oclock on friday

and finally at cumbria vag show and shine

Not updated this in a while so ill start by posting pictures from the last show i went to titanic dubs over in ireland. I never actually took any photos myself so ive just stole these from facebook lol

Now that winter has set in ive started to rebuild the super rs

Got some Custom centre nuts made from a single piece of billet rather than the crappy bbs plastic threads that are all damaged. Thanks to Chris Keeton at b1ncc autostyle
https://www.facebook.com/B1nccAutostyle?fref=ts

The inner barrels were then powdercoated oem silver by Mikey at fife powdercoating, another top guy dont have any pictures but will get some when i get them all finished

i dropped the wheels off to mike the polisher to work his magic on hes already started work on them and sent me a couple teaser shots

bought some new stainless bbs short valves

The aftermarket gold bolts are going in the bin to be replaced by the original Bbs bolts gold plated. Small things like this really satisfy my OCD lol

A preview picture Mike sent me of the centres before they are finished

New centre nuts arrived and new nuts for the bolts

Centres nuts and valves with genuine Bbs valve caps all ready to fit to wheels when they are back :D

The wheels are finished

Picked up the wheels

And built up one to see how they looked finished
