« on: February 23, 2011, 10:13:34 pm »
Anyone compared Milktek resonated vs non resonated for sound level. The resonated does sound very close to stock back section only

I had a non res on my last GTI & found it perfect, not much louder than stock but sounds great on engine over run.

I like the sound of that, as i'll hopefully going to stage 2 soon and I dont want an exhaust thats too loud, just one thats a bit louder then stock but with a good tone on overrun too  :happy2:

Resonated Milltek is too simular to stock sounding. Non res is slightly more louder when on the Gas pedal, great fun, and no way too loud inside. Its Just right.

Especially if you have DSG, you get a great sounding Pop or Fart on upshift :happy2:

Does changing the back box from stock to non-res affect HP? MPG? Insurance?

I have just gone from stock to non res catback, and I absolutely love it. I am in my 40s so don't want a really loud exahust. The Milltek is just spot on - just a bit louder than stock, but with loads more character, especially when you put your foot down

That almost has me sold but with limited £'s a new one is just too much.

why not go out with a sound recorder in the aston, and then use the recorded sounds on a CD in the golf, it'll be much better than the miltek, and way cheaper
