I'm experiencing it now and have been for a while truth be told. I think it's since I fitted the Turinis which are 18x8. Car's on 20mm AP springs and is an out of warranty 2006 plate GTI.
Will the change in suspension and wider rims have added stress to the steering rack?
The symptoms are no worse than a grinding noise on full lock, but are there more severe symptoms to come?
I read Mandy's thread about the longer steering column screws/bolts in detail but I think that is the
other steering grind sound at higher speeds.
Unfortunately as my driveway is a rat race and on a corner, I'm experiencing the low speed full lock grind noise - am I correct in thinking a replacement steering rack + motor under warranty is the only tried and tested fix?
Thanks
