You can use 3m black or CF patterned vinyl to cover the VW badge. Costs very little too.
Golf R gone.

It would cover the whole badge mate. Don't think there is a specifically cut piece of vinyl for covering the rear badge and depending on which badge you have you may or may not need to remove it. The earlier models have a quite flush VW emblem on the badge and for that I would say you will have to remove the assembly in order to stretch the vinyl around the edges correctly. If its the newer 3D type badge then the chrome VW emblem can be removed without removing the entire assembly.

http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,10027.0.html for removing the mechanism. The other type badge you can remove the silver VW with a credit card around the edge of it. Can't find a thread though but I'm sure somebody on here will be able to.

.
You won't find a real carbonfibre boot badge cheap anywhere, so vinyl is the answer. Carbon vinyl is surprisingly good. Me? I'm a serial poser so I have to have the real thing. [RR sits on his hands and refrains with great difficulty from posting a pic of his carbon rear]

I'd be interested to know if that fits straight over the older, flush badge? There ain't much room around the edge for anything else to fit and if it don't fit it won't cover all the chrome. Spot on if it does though!
