And finally...MY56 GTI thread - UPDATED 25th April
« on: March 14, 2011, 04:13:41 pm »
hey guys, been a member of this forum now for kicking on a year now, so thought it was well due time to show you my hard work...

so here is my car and this is how i picked it up as standard

but that didnt last long...

after a quick clean and a detail

notice in this photo i had the headlight washers deleted when the skirts were colour coded, completely changes the front end IMO

this got me off paying the congestion charge in london one day!

the extra bits ive added to it so far are:

cruise control
MFSW buttons
RNS510 & mdi kit
footrest and seat inlays (think they should be considered standard on this forum!)
coloured bumpers
R32 tails
inpro smoked indicator repeaters

to be fitted:

remap at west tuning (next week!)
bluetooth kit (this week)
WALK

and this is how it looks today

great forum btw!  :notworthy:

yeah its for sure on the list (agree it needs doing!), would want to do it properly and get springs and dampers though rather than just ebay springs, ive always been nervous about lowering cars though, this is still my daily driver so think you need to draw the line somewhere. im pretty much tossing up between Bilstein B12's and Koni FSD's any thoughts?

Bilsteins, regret getting rid of mine.
Car looks nice dude, though cannot believe you have had it so long with such a high chassis, do you have to use a step ladder to get in?

whats the drop on these mate? ive been talked out of FSD's before because ive heard the drop is only around 25mm but i expect its all down to what springs you get with them...

Some nice mods on the way.
Love the deleted bumper inserts. Have you thought about going for a US front grille to get rid of the number plate holder to help give an even smoother front?

i was tempted when i got the car colour coded but the bill was already pushing the monthly budget at the time, i read this thread below the other day though and think it would be quite a good retro fit option (on the flip side though i bought the car with tinted windows all round so do i really wanna be drawing more attention to myself?)

Apologies if I'm being thick, but can we see some pics, please?
