My RNS510
« on: March 22, 2011, 04:46:02 pm »
have a parrott connected - is there any interface plug for it to connect to the RNS?

Link?

or how much would it be to get the actual bluetooth working on the unit itself? is it easy to do?

Parrot is easy enough to get working. What did you have it connected to before?

You have to change the MUTE wire on the connector that will have been fitted to get it working on the RNS generally as it moved from one connector block to the other as I had on mine last week.

Good god is all I have to say about that

Youll need to get the Quadlock loom for the parrot as it snaps into that hole next to the blue multipin connector

There should be a third yellow wire connected from the parrot kit to the black 8 pin plug on the quadlock to - this also has to be moved to the new loom

Lol, I've seen that before it's horrendous.

I guess a 'professional' installer who doesn't now about or wish to use the plugs to fit the unit properly.

You can buy the plug and a repair wire to use with it which will sort you out.

What Quadlock loom do you want?  What do you want on the other end?

The RNS510 doesn't have a phone it simply has support for a phone  :happy2:

All you'd need is the 10 pin Green Housing with 3 repair wires for Tel R + Tel R - and Tel Mute

Then its just a case of crimping :)

12 Pin Green Flat Contact Housing (Plug) Radio/Telephone Connection - 3B7 035 447 B

Don't have the wire number to hand at the moment but I'm sure someone will have.

so I get one of these 3B7 035 447 B  < and simply attach the wires from the Parrot?

Is it expensive to get the phone option working on the RNS? and is it easy to setup?
