Wing Mirror Indicator Cracked

While having my MOT done last Friday I was advised that the drivers side wing mirror indicator has a pretty big crack in it.

I was surprised as had no idea. Looks like its been like that for a while as its got some green moss looking stuff growing inside it :sick:

Anyway it needs replacing, so have 2 options. Get 1 OEM cover to replace the just the drivers one or get 2 smoked ones.

After a quick search online I found that the OEM cover from the dealers is pretty expensive (about £15-20) so thought may as well just do the smoked indicator mod :wink:

Not clicked on the links but I take it it's the inpro smoked indicators? These aren't actually smoled but have the backplate painted black so it appears darker. The actual lense is still the same.  I'd rather have the lens smoked but I presume this would require brighter LEDs.

The ones from Awesome are Inpro. The ones from parts4euro are Helix.

Won't bother with the Inpro ones then.

Anyone know if the Helix ones are actually smoked?

I have the in-pro ones and can't fault them.
It's cheaper to get them from http://www.inprolights.co.uk/volkswagen-golf-c-19_55_63.html than Awesome.  :smiley:

Thanks for that. A good price but if I bother doing the mod then I would want smoked lenses.

Anyone know of a good guide to change the indicator lens?

I have come across two but one seems to have been removed and other the photos are not there.

I have a standard one in the garage I think, will check and see which side it is tomorrow if you want?!

I am sure I came across at least one of those earlier in the day while searching but the pics weren’t loading up. Must have been blocked at work.

What are the chances,  I am taking my one off as an LED is duff, and also as I am lamin x'ing them, so good to have the link handy. :happy2:
